
Silky, creamy, and melt-in-your-mouth — Panna Cotta is an Italian dessert that means “cooked cream”. When infused with pure vanilla, it transforms into a heavenly treat with a delicate aroma and rich flavour that’s hard to resist. 🌿
Ingredients (Serves 4)
- 2 cups (500 ml) heavy cream
- ½ cup (100 g) sugar
- 1 tsp pure vanilla extract or 1 vanilla bean (split & scraped)
- 2 ½ tsp powdered gelatin
- 3 tbsp cold water
- Fresh berries or fruit compote (for garnish)
Method
1️⃣ Bloom the gelatin by sprinkling it over cold water; let it sit for 5–10 mins.
2️⃣ Heat cream, sugar, and vanilla in a saucepan until hot (don’t boil).
3️⃣ Remove from heat, stir in gelatin until dissolved.
4️⃣ Pour into ramekins, chill for 4+ hours until set.
5️⃣ Serve with berries or a fruit sauce.
